Klaipėda
Klaipėda has more to offer than just the Old Town and Meridianas. Start with the Sculpture Park, as it’s a really interesting place to take a stroll.
You may also be interested in the remains of the bastions of the city of Memel, where you can learn more about the defensive history of Klaipėda. An industrial atmosphere can be found along the Danė embankment. Another less worn-out option is the old fort of the Klaipėda Maritime Museum - not because of the dolphin show, but because of the atmosphere of the fort itself and the Curonian Spit. If you are already in the port city and want to take a walk, look for the small sculptures of Klaipėda: the Black Ghost, the Mouse, the Cat, the Dragon, etc. A very good, but not everyone discovered option is the Melnragė piers. Especially in the evening or when the wind is stronger, you can feel the true character of the Baltic Sea there.
Palanga
Those who travel from Kaunas to Palanga will certainly find activities to do at any time of the year, not just in summer, when the resort is full of vacationers. In addition to the traditional attractions – the sea bridge, J.Basanavičius Street or Birutė Hill, the city’s guests can visit the Palanga Resort Museum and the Antanas Mončys Art Museum. Many events take place in the Kulhaus located in the city center, and nature lovers can enjoy not only the sea, but also Naglis Hill and the surrounding dune trails. Cycling routes are available for active leisure enthusiasts, and culture lovers can enjoy a variety of events.
